Information

I witnessed meegwams (teepees) being built in my youth also known as the ‘aski-kan’. Dry moss was used to cover the dwelling. My grandparents use to sit in it. Back then, everything was also rationed very carefully, sugar, flour and tea. Bannock (cake-ke-kan) was a daily staple. My grandmother would make it.
